The workout does not require any equipment and can be performed anywhere. But that does not mean it will not make you sweat. Bullmore further added, “Yet, in spite of its stripped-back nature, it was still able to offer a fun challenge that worked my heart, lungs and muscles in one fell swoop… So, if you’re after a quick workout challenge, I definitely recommend taking on The Countdown.”

Schwarzenegger regularly treats his fans with insights from all the years he spent training for a plethora of competitions. Introducing this workout is his attempt to do the same. The Countdown is a workout that majorly focuses on two body-weight exercises, push-ups, and lunges. The idea is to alternate between the two. One needs to start with performing 15 push-ups and then cross over to lunges. After performing 15 lunges, start all over again, however, keep reducing the repetitions by 1 each time. So, if one started with 15, they would do only 14 in the next round, and so on.

These exercises need to be performed without a break and the time needs to be kept score of. However, Schwarzenegger has suggested that only experienced people with 5 or more years of training, may start with 15 reps. Intermediates and beginners should look to start from 10 and 5 reps respectively.
