The Austrian Oak, Arnold Schwarzenegger, has won 7 Mr. Olympia titles. By winning Mr. Olympia six times consecutively, he is often regarded as one of the greatest bodybuilders of the generation. Arnold shifted his focus to his acting career after playing minor roles in some films. Notably, he announced his retirement from bodybuilding in 1975 after winning Mr. Olympia for the sixth time.

Arnold’s soccer coach introduced him to bodybuilding. Initially, Arnold’s switch to acting after a successful bodybuilding career came as a shocker to everyone. Even after having a slow start in his acting career, he did not give up. After struggling for a couple of years, he became a blockbuster actor.

After being a part of multiple successful films at the box office, Arnold Schwarzenegger became a household name. Arnold’s muscular body and exceptional action sequences made him a notable actor. And, he was considered one of the best action heroes of the 1980s. People compared Arnold and Sylvester Stallone’s performances because of the roles they played in films. It resulted in them being staunch rivals. Stallone even admitted that they hated each other because they were in the same business.

Despite their rivalry on screen, they became good friends afterward. Notably, they collaborated on some projects which became blockbusters at the box office. Recently, a picture of both the legends resurfaced. Arnold Schwarzenegger and his son Joseph surprised Sylvester Stallone to lighten up his day on Christmas Eve.

Sylvester Stallone posted this picture on his official Instagram account. He captioned the image,” The big man and his son, Joseph, dropped by Christmas Eve And livened everything up!”

In 1975, Arnold announced his retirement from bodybuilding and said his primary focus would be his acting career. Arnold was chosen as the lead actor in the highly anticipated film ‘Conan the Barbarian’. To portray the character of Conan, he had to build a highly muscular body. While the film was scheduled to shoot in January but started earlier in October because of some reason. Arnold had three months to prepare for the role. He started a meticulous 6-day routine which helped him to grow muscle quickly.

A few weeks into the training, Arnold’s friends and his trainer suggested that he should compete in Mr. Olympia that year. Earlier, he was contemplating the decision to participate. However, Arnold decided to go for it. Meanwhile, it came as a surprise to the media and his fellow competitors because he assured the press that he would not come out of retirement. Surprisingly, Arnold won the contest, marking his seventh Mr. Olympia win. And this was his last appearance as a bodybuilder.
