Change is a part of life, and every person goes through it at various points. But in most cases, it is how the person handles these changes that matter. Boris Johnson recently stepped down from his post as UK prime minister. And people will remember his Arnold Schwarzenegger-inspired speech for some time to come.

The Prime Minister resigned from the position on July 7. And he made his farewell speech in the final PMQs session on July 20. As part of his final words, he referred to a famous quote from Schwarzenegger’s iconic 1991 movie.
Boris Johnson uses iconic catchphrase of Arnold Schwarzenegger
Terminator 2: Judgment Day featured the former Mr. Olympia saying a catchphrase that has become an expression to bid farewell during friendly conversations. However, in recent years, more people have started including it as part of formal speeches.
And the latest example of this came when the former UK prime minister included it in the final part of his farewell speech. Concluding his farewell speech, Johnson said, “I want to thank everybody here and hasta la vista, baby. Thank you.”

The phrase “hasta la vista” is of Spanish origin, which translates to “see you later.” It denotes a similar emotion to the “I’ll be back” quote in the first Terminator series.
However, before wrapping up his speech with the famous quote, he gave some advice to his successor. He said, “Focus on the road ahead but always remember to check the rearview mirror.”
Schwarzenegger’s rise to fame as an actor

Schwarzenegger entered the world of acting while still bodybuilding professionally in the 70s. None of his feature films made a mark in the industry during this period. And the docudrama, Pumping Iron, was the best thing to come out of the era.

However, the following decade saw the Austrian Oak become one of the most prominent actors in the action genre. With blockbusters like Conan the Barbarian and The Terminator, Arnie made it clear that he was here to stay.

And even though Conan the Barbarian still enjoys a massive cult following, the first installation of the Terminator franchise cemented his stay in the industry. And when its sequel came out, the bodybuilder-turned-actor was already a household name.
