Joe Rogan praises Ronnie Coleman

Ronnie Coleman was a guest on Joe Rogan’s podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience. They spoke on a variety of topics, ranging from Ronnie’s training routine to his personal life. They discussed different aspects of his bodybuilding career and what made him dominate the sport for so long. Joe brought up the topic of how Ronnie looked like an ultimate beast during his prime.

“I was told you looked like a dude they invented in Marvel comic book to kill the Hulk. That’s what you looked like when you were in your prime man,” exclaimed Joe, comparing Ronnie to the $53 billion worth franchise character. According to Joe, Ronnie had redefined bodybuilding from the Arnold Schwarzenegger and Franco Columbu days. The extreme levels to which they would take their body stunned him.

“We were pretty tough back in the day. Everything was tough back then. The guys I was competing with were really good. I just came out of nowhere. I got into bodybuilding late,” said Ronnie, recalling the days when he was in his prime. Ronnie believed that his rise in bodybuilding was relatively slow as he started training to become a bodybuilder at the age of 24. However, Ronnie revealed that he would work out, ever since he was a teenager.

Coleman’s bodybuilding career

The legendary bodybuilder, Ronnie Coleman’s career started very late in his life. During his college days, he was a football player and graduated with a degree in accounting. However, he could not find a job as an accountant as it required prior experience. Ronnie started delivering pizzas in an attempt to make ends meet. After two years, he cleared the interview to become a police officer. Ronnie began serving as a police officer in the Arlington Police in 1989. His colleague suggested he should start bodybuilding, as Ronnie already had a heavily muscular body.

Ronnie began bodybuilding and won Mr. Texas defeating Brian Dobson, who used to train him. He participated in Mr. Olympia for the first time in 1992. However, he failed to achieve a top-five position until 1997. The 1998 edition of Mr. Olympia changed his life forever. He won the title by defeating Kenneth Wheeler, by three points. Ronnie established unmatched dominance in the sport throughout his career. Moreover, the lineups during bodybuilding competitions at that time would be fiercely competitive.
