The 55-year-old veteran commentator once opened up about steroid use in sports. In an interview with PowerfulJRE, Joe Rogan and Mariana Van Zeller shared thoughts about bodybuilding.
Joe Rogan talks about bodybuilders using steroids
In 2020, Joe said that bodybuilders who do steroids have unrealistic bodies. He said one could easily find bodybuilders who use steroids in gyms by looking at their massive physiques.
Rogan said, “They don’t even look like humans; they look like walls with feet.” Rogan claimed that the difference between natural and bodybuilders who take steroids could be easily spotted on the stage.
Rogan also opened up about one of his friends who was a natural bodybuilder. He claimed that his friend, Brian, trained hard and followed a strict diet. Without using steroids, Brian had a massive physique with giant arms and a thick body structure.
Rogan reveals why Ronnie Coleman started using steroids
In his interview, Joe Rogan also talked about the eight-time Mr. Olympia winner, Ronnie Coleman. He said that if Mount Rushmore were dedicated to bodybuilders, Ronnie, Arnold, and Lee Haney would have their heads there.

Rogan praised Ronnie Coleman for having a spectacular body. He also expressed concern over Coleman’s health. Ronnie Coleman has had 13 surgeries, and most of his back and neck discs have been replaced.

Rogan also revealed why Ronnie Coleman started using steroids despite his perfect genetics. Joe said, “He was competing with just like, I mean, perfect genetics”. He added, “He’s just a stud, and then realized he couldn’t beat these guys. No, there’s no way to get his ass kicked“.
