When Arnold was given a challenge upfront

For those unversed, the Ice Bucket Challenge has been popular since 2014. The donations raised through the challenge go to the ALS Association. The committee, alongside various watchdog groups, was tasked with monitoring the activity. Since 2014, the challenge has generated more than $115 million. The challenge intends to promote awareness.

Thus, joining others for the noble cause back in 2014 took part in the challenge. Tagging Arnold alongside others, the former lightweight double-champion, taking it to Twitter, wrote, “Here is my #ALSIceBucketChallenge I nominate @Schwarzenegger, @SnoopDogg, @hughhefner @SineadOconnorHQ & EVERYONE.”

Seeing Conor’s nominee list impressed many of his fans. According to the challenge, it is expected the nominated people must take the challenge within the first 24 hours. However, fans did not see Arnold taking the challenge within the said time limit. Though the exact reason is unknown, it could probably be because of the heart condition he avoided taking the challenge.

The reason Arnold Schwarzenegger has to take a lot of care of his health

The Terminator star was born with a congenital defect that made it harder for his heart to pump blood through the main artery. Owing to his health issues, he thus has to take a lot of care. Because of this condition, in 1997, he was required to undergo surgery. But as ill luck would have it, the surgery, as Arnie revealed, turned into an “absolute disaster.”

The situation turned grave. He revealed, “[The surgery] failed, and I started coughing and choking, and not getting any air, and there was fluid going in the lungs.” As of now, the Terminator star has undergone three heart surgeries. Having recovered fully, the 75-year-old follows a healthy lifestyle and keeps himself fit.
