UFC President Dana White recently introduced a new fighting league, UFC Power Slap. The slap-fighting contest calls for competitors in an open-handed slap battle based on specific rules. Therefore, four bodybuilding greats—Dennis James, Chris Cormier, Milos Sarcev, and Bob Cicherillo—virtually met up for a heated discussion of the league along with a range of topics.
The Muscle & Fitness interview in collaboration with The Menace Podcast with Dennis James, surfaced on the 20th of March 2023, on YouTube. Co-host, James shared some bold insights on the matter while Sarcev seemed to be on board with UFC’s new feat. Here’s what followed.

As per the interview, the 56-year-old IFBB pro teased a conversation over Sarcev’s recent visit to the UFC events. The latter spoke highly of the Power Slap, while the others connoted disagreement. “But hey, this power slap is going to take over (…) I mean, it’s interesting,” Sarcev claimed. Eventually, James explicitly opined, “Take over what? I think this is the dumbest thing ever. Simply because how do you train for this? You don’t train to slap someone; you train to get slapped.”
Cicherillo supported James’s comment, whereas the former Mr. Universe chimed in saying, “You know, Dana White and Hunter Campbell, they don’t do anything just because. You know, they calculated everything… popularity.” Cormier didn’t really voice his opinion on the matter, thus, his stance remained unknown. However, stumbling upon the senior-most bodybuilder’s revelations in an attempt to pull his leg, James blurted, “Yeah! You listen to what Dana is saying and you believe everything he says…. You wanna make sure you don’t lose your seats.”
Interestingly, the 59-year-old former athlete admitted, “Of course, I do!” to which all burst into laughter. Further into the interview, Cicherillo declared UFC’s failure in the U.S. in the past. “That sh*t got shut down,” he said. He stressed the fact that the sport got sanctioned in the country only after certain rules were incorporated and eventually became a hit. On a similar note, Dana White recently took a massive step toward promoting the slap league.
Dana White gives slap contenders a dollar-boost
As revealed in a YouTube video by MMATalk, White taunted people’s trash talks upon the commencement of the Power Slap league. Moreover, he added that a particular fighter was signed for $45,000 per match. “These guys are changing their family’s lives,” he remarked.

Surprisingly, he emphasized the money-making potential of the game and said, “Some of these guys probably don’t make forty-five thousand dollars a year. They made it in one night. And now you know we’re on our way and this thing is gonna grow.”
