Former Navy SEAL Turned Fitness Icon’s Extremely Torturous Outing With Bowhunter Friend: “Have to Kill David Goggins and Bring Out Goggins!”

In recent years former Navy Seal David Goggins has established himself as an icon of the online fitness community. However, unlike many motivational speakers on the internet, Goggins repeatedly challenges his physical and mental resilience. Now a prolific and record-setting endurance athlete, Goggins was once overweight. However, the former Navy Seal molded himself to take on the toughest challenges through bodybuilding and endurance training. During his first meeting with bowhunter Cameron Hanes, a challenge is exactly what he got.

On March 10, 2023, Goggins uploaded a clip of Hanes from The Joe Rogan Experience podcast. In the clip, Hanes talked about the first day he met David Goggins. The retired special forces operative recounted his torturous outing with the bowhunter in the caption of his post.

David Goggins doesn’t give up

Cameron Hanes has appeared on multiple episodes of Joe Rogan‘s podcast. During one of those episodes, the bowhunter talked to Rogan about his first meeting with Goggins. Besides being a hunter, Hanes is also a fitness enthusiast, and hence on their first meeting, the duo decided to do a challenging workout. They ran 35 miles and lifted weights before Hanes taught the endurance athlete some archery.

Cameron Hanes said the weather was cold and “soaking wet” because it had rained. While the race was going smoothly, 22 miles in, “something was happening with his (David Goggins) feet.” The hunter said Goggins “had to take his shoes off. Normally, that’s not a good sign because you know, your feet are gonna get torn up.” However, the former Seal didn’t give up.

Not only did Goggins catch up to Hanes, but he also left him behind. Hanes told the UFC commentator he had a cameraman at the finish line. Hanes asked the cameraman how Goggins looked. He said the endurance athlete had taken off his shirt. He also said Goggins had shouted, “they don’t know me son!” even though no one was there.

In the caption of his post, David Goggin revealed that he had to tap into a different mindset to finish the torturous race. “Very few people push me to the point where I have to kill David Goggins and bring out Goggins!” said the former special forces soldier. Like Hanes, Goggins has also appeared on Rogan’s podcast.

Joe Rogan once praised the former Navy Seal

UFC commentator and comedian, Joe Rogan holds David Goggins in high regard. Goggins also appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience and shared how he overcame depression and self-doubt to achieve success. An avid reader, Rogan read Goggins’s book, Can’t Hurt Me, and had nothing but praise for its author.

The comedian even posted about the book on Instagram. He urged his fans to read the book. “This book will change your f***king life. @davidgoggins It’s time to go to war with yourself,” Rogan wrote.
