Over the years, bodybuilding has reached great heights and gained major popularity in various countries. While everything looks to be going well for the sport, former bodybuilder Milos Sarcev has a counter opinion. He has raised some daring questions regarding the sport’s new-age changes.

In a recent collaborative Instagram post with Mr. Olympia and Arnold Classic host Bob Cicherillo, Sarcev caught the bodybuilding community’s attention. In this post, the Serbian bodybuilder questioned the discontinuation of unique and ‘signature’ bodybuilding poses during the competitions.

He wrote, “Why did any of us back in a day came up with ANY of our signature poses and couldn’t wait to present them…if we knew that those poses DID NOT MATTER?”

Recently, several bodybuilding competitions only feature eight major poses: Quarter Turns, Front Double Biceps, Rear Double Biceps, Front Lat Spread, Rear Lat Spread, Side Triceps, Side Chest, and Front Abdominal & Thigh. Winners of these championships are usually declared based on these poses, and bodybuilders do not have the opportunity to display their signature poses.

Hence, Sarcev asked, “And more important question is: SHOULD THEY (ONCE AGAIN) – MATTER?!? Or we are really reducing whole bodybuilding into MR 8 MANDATORY POSES?” The former bodybuilder, Cicherillo, believes these championships can no longer be termed bodybuilding competitions. As written in the picture shared by Sarcev, “POSES OTHER THAN MANDATORIES MATTERED … now they don’t🤔😏😣😔… as we no longer have bodybuilding contests…we have Mr 8 Mandatories Championships…largely,” Cicherillo concluded in his photo posted by Sarcev.
