With BuzzFeed News being one of the leading news outlets, the announcement has baffled many journalists. Addressing the issue in her tweet, American journalist Maria Shriver wrote, “For those of us in the journalism space, this is a big story.”

She further wrote about how the announcement will affect the journalists. Shriver added, “And for those of us trying to do journalism above the noise in the social media space, this is a depressing commentary.” Being a journalist herself, Shriver is well aware of the gravity of the situation.

Following this, she took to Twitter to share a heartwarming message for the Willis-Moore family.

While wishing for Willis’ good health, she expressed gratitude for spreading awareness about the disease. Later, addressing the masses in her tweet, Shriver said Willis’ family deserves support, just like any other family going through a similar situation. She also urged the reporters to respect their privacy and not chase them down the streets for photographs.
