The social media platform is growing and influencing the youth of the world. Meanwhile, a legend like Jay Cutler, a former professional bodybuilder, has many accomplishments to his credit. However, Jay is most remembered for one particular achievement for which he received much praise.

However, with time the legend noticed how modern-day’s bodybuilders are performing. In addition, once during an interview, he shared his observations. 

Jay Cutler on the lost passion of bodybuilders

For contemporary competitive bodybuilders and earlier generations, Bodybuilding as a career, has frequently been compared. However, when Brandon Curry, won the 2019 Mr. Olympia, the discussion reached a new level. Soon after, Dorian Yates, and Ronnie Coleman, said that Curry wouldn’t be able to place in the top 5 during their respective eras of competition.

In an exclusive conversation with GI, Jay Cutler discussed on how bodybuilding has changed throughout the years. During the interview, Jay iterated, “I loved to train, and I didn’t bring phones into the gym I didn’t shoot things nowadays, people train for Instagram, okay, they train to make themselves look like something it’s it’s just a lot of you see on social media is a facade their lives aren’t necessarily that great… That’s why, I believe that it’s just kind of there’s been no real passion in a lot of these people’s vision. I wanted to be a successful businessman like I never thought I’d be Mr. Olympia.”

Besides, Cutler added, “I’ll be honest, I thought that my body would only go so far, but I said if I want to do anything, I want to be able to make money in the fitness industry, whether I will be a trainer, uh I own some sort of supplement brand, or I owned you know a clothing brand.”

Cutler defines a true superstar for the sport

Jay Cutler, whose net worth has been $30 million this year, has actively continued supporting sports, long after his retirement. Once during an interview, Cutler described the actual definition of a superstar. He stated, “A superstar… is someone who can pull fans in, capture the public imagination, inspire the next generation of bodybuilders.”

Further, he added, “Bodybuilding needs a superstar, just like the UFC has Conor McGregor, even though he’s not the best fighter on the planet. And boxing has Floyd Mayweather, even though he hasn’t fought anyone good in how many years?” Even after his retirement, Cutler has maintained the status of being a superstar till now.
