Arnold Schwarzenegger posts touching tweets in honor of Bob Rafelson
Schwarzenegger found himself in a dry spell after his first film. Due to the lack of the movie’s success, most directors and producers were unwilling to give him a chance to act in their projects. Although he did land an uncredited cameo role in ‘The Long Goodbye’ during this time, it was not enough to get him by.
During this time of hardship, the bodybuilder-turned-actor found his savior in Bob Rafelson. The director offered the Austrian Oak his first crucial role after Hercules in New York in the movie ‘Stay Hungry’. In the film, the actor plays Joe Santo, a bodybuilder pursuing the Mr. Universe title. In short, Arnold plays his former self in the movie.
Bob Rafelson was a genius and a visionary. I’ve talked for years about how agents, producers, & directors laughed me and my dreams of being an actor out of their offices. It was Bob who finally opened the door to Hollywood and let me in with “Stay Hungry.”

The best way any of us can honor Bob’s unbelievable life is to remember that there is always someone out there waiting for a door to be opened to their dreams, and each of us has the power to let them in like Bob did over and over throughout his fantastic career.

However, Rafelson’s recent demise has left the Terminator star devastated. And the action star honored his memory with a series of tweets on the social media platform. In the tweets, Schwarzenegger praised the genius of the director and even called him a visionary.
One of the tweets read, “The best way any of us can honor Bob’s unbelievable life is to remember that there is always someone out there waiting for a door to be opened to their dreams, and each of us has the power to let them in like Bob did over and over throughout his fantastic career.”
