The fitness industry is filled with myths and misconceptions, and one of the most common ones is that certain exercises can burn fat more effectively than others. Many people believe that doing exercises such as running, crunches, or high-intensity interval training can directly target body fat and help them lose weight. And who is better than one of the most popular fitness coaches, to bring an end to this misconception? Maik Wiedenbach, a well-known fitness coach and author, has recently made a shocking revelation to bust the widely spread notion.

The recent post of the legendary coach has grabbed the eyes of the viewers as he talks about the issue that relates to every person struggling in reducing weight.

In a recent interview, he stated that there are no particular exercises that can directly burn fat. While many people believe that certain exercises, such as running or crunches, can help them lose weight and reduce body fat, Wiedenbach claims that this is a myth. Wiedenbach explains that fat loss is a complex process that involves more than just exercising.

While exercise is an important part of the weight loss process, he argues the idea that certain exercises can burn fat more effectively is based on the concept of “spot reduction.” He said that people think that they can target fat loss in specific areas of their body by doing exercises that work those areas. He gave an example, the people perform chest flies and crunches hoping that the accumulated fat would suddenly vanish.

However, he added that all this is a myth. Wiedenbach explained that when people exercise, their body burns calories from all over the body, not just from the area they are working. This means that doing crunches will not directly target belly fat, and doing arm exercises will not directly target arm fat. Instead, fat loss occurs throughout your body when you create a calorie deficit.

Wiedenbach’s habit of busting mainstream myths

Wiedenbach recently was in the limelight when he commented about the impracticality of The Wolverine star Hugh Jackman’s diet. The popular coach didn’t buy into the actor’s 8000-calorie diet. He pointed out that it is practically impossible for a human being to eat this much amount of calories on a daily basis.

Wiedenbach’s revelation highlights the importance of taking a holistic approach to fitness. While exercise and diet are important parts of the training process, there is no one-size-fits-all solution to fitness. Instead, a combination of exercise and healthy eating habits can help create a calorie deficit and contribute to sustainable weight loss over time.
