Calum Von Moger started earning fame on the internet in the mid-2010s. After the Australian’s YouTube channel became popular, fans noticed he looked very similar to Arnold Schwarzenegger. However, Von Moger didn’t just look like Arnold, even his physique was like Schwarzenegger’s. At 6’2 Ft, Moger was also the same height as the seven-time Mr. Olympia.

Fans also admired Calum’s proportions. By 2017, Moger was making waves in the classic physique category. Moger regularly trained with current three-time Mr. Olympia Classic Physique winner Chris Bumstead. However, an injury derailed Calum.
Bicep curls with Chir Bumstead gone wrong
In 2017, Calum regularly uploaded vlogs to his YouTube channel. During one vlog, Calum worked out with Chris Bumstead, and the pair decided to perform tandem bicep curls at the end of the workout. They loaded a shocking 400 lbs and attempted to curl the weight. While the first one went up, it all went south at the end of the second rep.
Calum recoiled in pain and put the barbell down. Wincing in pain while grabbing his left arm, Calum asked, “Did you feel that?”. Chris answered, “No. Are you good?”. However, Calum was far from good. The Australian had torn his bicep.

After the initial pain subsided, Calum said, “Yeah! I felt it. It felt like a pop, and like a jolt.” The bodybuilder also said, “Yeah, it hurts all the way up here.”, and pointed to the whole length of the bicep, from the elbow to the shoulder joint.
Von Moger underwent surgery shortly after the incident. However, the bodybuilder’s plan to turn pro as quickly as he could have failed. Moger finally won his pro card at the 2020 NPC Universe show in Charleston, South Carolina. He hasn’t competed since.
Calum once portrayed a younger Arnold Schwarzenegger
Fans always pointed out Calum’s similarities to Arnold. In 2018, the Australian got an opportunity to portray the seven-time Mr. Olympia on-screen. The film, titled ‘Bigger’, was based on the real-life story of Joe and Ben Weider.
“He (Calum) could really carve out a nice niche for himself as the younger version of me,” Arnold Schwarzenegger told Men’s Health.

During most of 2017, Calum’s popularity rose steadily, and he didn’t suffer any injuries. However, the ill-fated bicep curl threw Calum off. Since then, he has also suffered more injuries that have kept him from mounting a successful comeback. Only the future will tell if the Arnold Schwarzenegger look-alike can come back again.
