Steve might be 60, but by shedding approximately 60 pounds, the paramedic from Yorkshire Ambulance Service has become an inspiration for many. Going from ‘dad bod’ to ‘ripped,’ the 60-year-old from Leeds, UK, has sent shockwaves across social media.

Seeing Steve today, it would perhaps be difficult to believe that one year ago, he was overweight. Along with obesity, he was also battling high cholesterol and was borderline diabetic. However, he refused to be bogged down by such challenges. Here’s a look at Steve’s remarkable transformation.

The unbelievable transformation of Steve Ramsden

Steve made a wise choice; having decided to live a healthier life, he started working on himself. Merging his hard work with a balanced diet and proper exercise, he showed the world ‘what wonders’ the deadly combination does. Last Christmas, he weighed 221 pounds, but today he weighs just 159 pounds.

Sharing more insights into his dad’s life, his son Dan revealed, “He did an intense 12-week transformation course, and he was really disciplined… He lost a few stone, and then he cut out drinking and bad foods.” Dan, who owns a gym, helped his father achieve the feat.

He further said to Leeds Live that age was just a number for his dad. He added, “turning my Dad’s life around has been my greatest achievement to date.” According to Dan, all his father wanted was to remain in his loved ones’ lives for as much as possible. Hence, it prompted him to go for the drastic lifestyle change.

Steve himself is very proud of his transformation as well. Talking about his journey, he said, “I take people in an ambulance that are younger than me.” He realized they were not healthy because they were not looking after themselves. He subsequently made a choice.

A choice that has made his life better. Steve no longer worries about becoming a diabetic. It may come as a surprise, but his weight is as low as he can remember in his adult life. Steve has also worked around his lifestyle. He eats healthily and tries to lead a balanced lifestyle. After all the hard work, he can now see his abs again. He recently opened his Instagram account to tell more people about his journey and raise awareness.
