Paige Hathaway, a fitness influencer and mother, has opened up about the struggles during and after motherhood to cope with the expectations and standards set by society. She shared how women face criticism for their bodies and fitness routines after giving birth.

Hathaway took to Instagram and shared a video of her transition pre and post-pregnancy. While the video is a testament to her strong commitment, it lays out some heartbreaking facts about the undue pressure on mothers.

Hathaway talked about the pressure that women have to face to “bounce back” after giving birth and return to their pre-pregnancy body quickly. Hathaway acknowledged that while some people just push them to follow a fitness routine, but completely ignore the struggles of mothers during the 9 months.Anxiety, childbirth, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and sleep deprivation all take their toll on a new mom’s health and fitness”, she wrote in the caption.

These claims are unfortunately all too common for mothers. Society often expects mothers to prioritize their children above all else, even at the expense of their own health and happiness. This standard can be harmful and unfair, as it overlooks the fact that mothers are individuals with their own needs and goals. She wrote, Society doesn’t take care of new mothers.”

The fitness influencer spoke about the need for society to change its expectations for mothers, saying,It’s time we do better for new moms.”  She urged the new moms to normalize taking care of themselves and not feel guilty about it. She emphasized that mothers should be supported in achieving their own goals, whether that be fitness-related or otherwise.

The iconic fashion influencer has been enjoying the new phase of her life with her daughter. Recently, Hathaway accepted that she has noticed a lot of differences in her body during these three years. She took to Instagram and wrote, “So much has changed over the years…MOTHERHOOD CHANGED ME FROM THE INSIDE OUT…”. The popular  Instagram model acknowledged that she has seen drastic changes in her body and lifestyle and now is more confident than ever. Her healthy lifestyle has made her a much more secure person after her pregnancy.
