Legendary Brazilian soccer player, Pelè, passed away at the age of 82. He took his last breath in Albert Einstein Hospital, Sao Paulo, on December 29. The Eternal King was battling colon cancer since 2021. His health condition started worsening in October 2022. Soon after the news of his demise broke out, friends, family, fans and other celebrities shared their condolences.

Furthermore, celebrities from different sports took their social media handles to pay tribute to the legend. And bodybuilder Flex Wheeler also shared a post on Instagram showing respect for the soccer legend. Swimming champion Michael Phelps posted a story remembering his time with the King.

American bodybuilder Kenneth “Flex” Wheeler posted a photo of Pele with his three World Cups, on his Instagram. For the unversed, Pelè is the only soccer player in the world to have won three World Cups.

Expressing that he’ll miss the player, the bodybuilder wrote, “You will be deeply missed brother 💔” Wheeler further urged his fans to join him in honoring the legend. “Join me in showing respect to the GOAT 💔🥹”

Additionally, other esteemed American personalities also offered their prayers to the departed soul. Former President Barack Obama took to Twitter to pay tribute to the player.

Additionally, celebrities weren’t the only ones aggrieved by the news. Fans came forward to pay their respects, too. Taking to the comments section of Wheeler’s post, a fan wrote, “R.I.P. PELE The Best Ever!! a True icon..🇧🇷💔😓😭😭 We All lost One Great Man.👆🏼 God Bless him..”

Remembering the Legend, another one wrote, “What an exemplar of the expression ‘Be the change you want to se in the world’.” A third fan commented, “The greatest football player of all time !”

To pay their last respect to the Black Pearl, many fans took to Twitter to remember the legend. Some remembered the feats he had achieved during his career. Others recalled the man he was outside the field. The masses believe that though the legend is no more, his memories will live on forever. Not only Brazil, but the entire world is mourning the loss of the Eternal King.
