The mogul of bodybuilding Chris Bumstead’s physique is what one wants to put on at least once in a lifetime. But the efforts to build such a shredded figure can be pulled off only by a few. The goggle-eyed body he donned for Mr. Olympia 2022 was commended as a fusion of Arnold and Zane by his fans. And they have the verdict for the show far before its conclusion, CBum as the title winner.

The Canadian bodybuilder has also impressed ‘The King’ Ronnie Coleman with his jacked physique. Coleman applauded CBum’s body as the best physique he has ever seen in Classic Physique. Bumstead has already established his name in the bodybuilding arena beside the likes of Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Frank Zane with 4x Mr.Olympia titles (Classic Physique). However, bodybuilding was not the goal that inspired him to do muscle-building.

Chris Bumstead reveals why he started working out at age 14

CBum in his latest chat with Maxx on the 46th segment of ‘Don’t be Sour’ reveals his original sports interest, which made him focus on working out at the age of 14. Maxx in the chat show asked him,” Did you grow up playing any sports?” to which the latter replied thinking back to his school days, that he played football, basketball, and track and field in high school and then stopped after high school.

Intrigued to know when did CBum actually start looking huge, Maxx posed his next question,” Were you always like a larger human?” “Like what age were you like, I know that I’m not like my friends in terms of my genetic ability to get larger than them” he added to be more specific. CBum revealed after some reminiscence that he was 15 years old and was studying Grade 10 back in 2010. “I started working out when I was like 14 and I immediately like just started putting on muscle, because I was a skinny kid, to begin with, but I just put on muscle really easily.

Not just working out, the 4x Mr. Olympia legend also brought chicken and rice to school, so that his protein intake was not compromised. However, he revealed he had no clue about the sport he is ruling now. He said, “I didn’t give a f*ck about bodybuilding, didn’t know what bodybuilding was, didn’t have magazines, and didn’t look up to any bodybuilders.” All the while he was working out because he loved working out and emphasized,” I wanted to be big and Jack for football and basketball. “

Chris Bumstead’s motivation to hit the gym

His major motivation to work outcomes from his passion for the sport. “My motivation definitely comes from loving what I do. I have a strong passion for training and I love seeing how I can transform my body,said the muscular legend.

CBum was instructed by a professional bodybuilder Iain Valliere, who helped him to plunge into bodybuilding. He is also inspired by The Quadfather, Tom Platz, who is a pro at lifting intense weights. CBum’s squat routine had helped him develop such well-defined quads. All in all, as fate had it, CBum is meant to rule the Bodybuilding arena.
