“She’s Got His Strength”: Son-in-Law Chris Pratt Once Hilariously Reasoned Why His Kids Bear Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Surname

Arnold Schwarzenegger has not just a big fat family but also a family with big names. Following the family custom, his eldest daughter Katherine honored her family traditions by choosing to name her daughters with unique names. But was the decision easy for Katherine? Opening about it, Katherine’s husband, the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ fame actor Chris Pratt once on a Jimmy Kimmel Live episode, finally broke his silence on his daughter’s name.

Chris also revealed what role did he play in naming his daughters. Was it him deciding on the names or Katherine making the call? The actor had a lot to say.

As Chris Pratt sat with Jimmy Kimmel, the former could not help but proudly boast that, finally, he has learned to pronounce his wife’s full name. Confessing, “it’s a long name,” the father of three acknowledged, “I’ve learned now.” Though pronouncing ‘Schwarzenegger’ is not easy, the couple decided to pass their family names to the girls.

Joking that “there’s a lot of letters in these children’s names,” the actor revealed that his daughters need not worry about hyphenating. On getting asked whether it was Arnold who insisted on including ‘Schwarzenegger’ in his kid’s names, the proud father turned the answer with a no.

He said, “That was Katherine.” Making it clear that he had no say in it, Pratt added, “She’s got his strength. What Mama says goes.” Recently the Pratts’ and Schwarzenggers’ came together for the baptism ceremony of his youngest daughter. 

Chris Pratt’s daughter’s name holds a special tribute to the Schwarzenegger family 

When Katherine welcomed her first daughter, she paid her mother a tribute by naming her firstborn, Lyla Maria Schwarzenegger Pratt. For those unversed, it is a tradition in the Schwarzenegger family; even Kathrine’s middle name honors her late grandmother Eunice Shriver. Thus, she visibly made her mother emotional when following the family tradition.

Continuing the legacy forward, when she gave birth to her second daughter, she named her after her younger sister. Naming her newborn Eloise Christina Schwarzenegger Pratt, Kathrine showed her love for her younger sibling. Earlier she has also spoken about how happy she was to see her two daughters growing together. Coming from a big family, she expressed her desire to have a big family.
