However, being an expert in the field, Heath knows the technicalities and makes it a point to reveal his limitations in the sport. Speaking about Heath in his podcast with Jay & Matt, the bodybuilder shares his concern.
Phil Heath made Shannon Sharpe aware of his limitations
The show host revealed that they enjoyed watching Sharpe and Heath working out together, and would love to see Sharpe more. Talking about it, Jay said, “there’s lot of potential to get on stage you should get them in the PhilHealth classic.” To which Heath added, “I really need to hit him up about that.”
As Matt nods in agreement and talks about Sharpe’s “crazy condition”, modern bodybuilding legend Heath soon joins in to talk about the areas in which Sharpe faces problems. He talked about how Sharpe still bench presses 500 pounds. Heath added, “His problem though like I told him, I said your problem is that you he’s a big bench press guy yeah, and I’m like you can’t do that because you’ll have a twinge every now.”
Heath also drew attention to Sharpe’s age and remarked how he is “50-54 years old” and simply “cannot” do that. Despite the limitations, Sharpe’s passion for staying fit is praiseworthy. The football legend works on a rigorous diet and workout plan to be healthy and in good shape. He also pays minute attention to his lifestyle.
