Let’s look at who made Cutler’s list of the best bodybuilders of all time.

Jay Cutler names his top 5 bodybuilders of all time

On October 3, 2022, the latest episode of Jaywalking premiered on Cutler’s YouTube channel. In the episode, Jay mentioned, “Someone asked me who are the top five bodybuilders and why of all time?”. Which, he quickly named his top five, but one name among those must have been a surprise for a few fans. Cutler said, “Lee (Haney), Dorian (Yates), Ronnie (Coleman), Arnold (Schwarzenegger), and then there’s one more… Sergio Oliva… was way ahead of his time.”

Sergio Oliva was born and raised in Cuba. However, he defected to the United States during the Pan American Games. Even as a teenager, Oliva could clean and jerk over 400 lbs. In the USA, Oliva started bodybuilding after moving to Chicago in 1963. The Cuban’s stand-out trait was his size.

In the beginning, he outsized everyone, but he lacked conditioning. However, by 1967, the man who beat Arnold Schwarzenegger had both size and conditioning. Sergio was the first bodybuilder who had both attributes. Maybe that’s why Cutler said that ”The Myth” was far ahead of his time.

Jay Cutler also clarified why he thought the others were among the greatest. He said that Yates, “changed the game”, while Coleman pushed the body past its limits and no one can, “duplicate that”. He also put Lee Haney on his list because he broke Arnold’s record. Finally, he also said that Arnold was ahead of his time and had a comeback win under his belt.

Jay Cutler’s achievements are also comparable with the best

When it comes to Mm. Olympia, Jay Cutler is among the very best. In 2006, Cutler dethroned the arguable GOAT of bodybuilding, Ronnie Coleman. Cutler won the title three more times after that. Cutler also beat six-time Mr. Olympia winner Phil Heath back in 2010. Apart from Mr. Olympia, Jay has also won two Arnold Classic titles.
