The bodybuilding legend once recalled how he got into martial arts after watching the movie, ‘Enter the Dragon’ – starring Bruce Lee. He explained that he was offered free karate lessons after the movie screening, and he took up the opportunity. Soon after, the legend began training under the mentorship of the martial arts champion. The 4x Arnold Classic champion was grateful to Bruce Lee for taking him under his wing.
Flex went on to credit Bruce Lee for introducing him to the art and encouraging him to begin bodybuilding. While the kung-fu hero strongly believed that he was a better martial artist, he still felt that bodybuilding chose Flex. In an interview once, Flex stressed how his introduction to Bruce Lee changed his life. He gratefully exclaimed, “yeah he he pretty much saved my life you know”. The champion fell in love with the art, the artist, and bodybuilding as well.

Flex Wheeler has since made his name in the field of bodybuilding. The legend went on to reign over the Arnold Classic Championship four times. While the legend went through countless medical issues that ended up resulting in an amputated leg, he still perseveres.
