After undergoing several surgeries, the doctor fitted screws and plates to support his body, and Coleman lost hope of standing on the stage again. Once, he addressed how the screw inside his body was not made for a guy big like him.

After 13 surgeries; including the insertion of three titanium screws and plates in his back, he has been undergoing a restoration phase for his body. Some have questioned whether his training methods throughout the years were the cause of the need for the initial surgery. However, even after the doctor’s big ‘no,’ Coleman didn’t stop working out, even in a wheelchair.

During an interview in 2020, with muscles and strength, Ronnie was asked if he’ll ever step back in the gym. Coleman replied to the question“No, not at this point. The doctors are going to monitor me every couple of weeks to see how I’m doing. With the last surgery, I did like I did when I competed. I took three months off and then went back to the gym.”

Further, he added how all the screws in his body needed the replacement of screws and plates. Ronnie said, “The screws that were in there ended up breaking because they weren’t made for a guy as big as me. This time they had to put special titanium screws in my back along with plates, and the doctor told me it can be anywhere from three to six months before I can train again.”

How injuries struck Coleman’s life?

As far as his fans and other bodybuilders witnessed, Ronnie’s extraordinary power of lifting heavy weights throughout his career caused trouble for his body. Coleman’s strenuous workout six days a week included many high-rush leg exercises with lots of weight. His habit of performing 3–5 movements for 8–15 reps was the primary factor affecting his body.
