After retirement, Coleman built his business empire with his supplement business, and through his YouTube channel, he kept in touch with his fans and the public. Other than all these ventures, Coleman published his autobiography in 2019, ‘Yeah Buddy! My Incredible Story’. With several other revelations from his life, he also revealed the origin of his most used catchphrase, ‘Yeah buddy‘ in his book.
The story of ‘Yeah Buddy’ becoming Ronnie Coleman’s catchphrase
Ronnie Coleman had a strict routine to follow in the gym. He liked to lift heavy, and sometimes he even deadlifted 800lbs. As a result, he needed to push himself to do better while training. So he had different catchphrases to boost him while training. However, a few of them were used as reverse psychology, such as, “Ain’t nothin’ but a peanut!” and “Light weight!”.
In 2019, Coleman published his autobiography and shared an origin story for one of his catchphrases.
He wrote, “I was working out hard but there was something missing, and I felt as though I needed extra motivation. So, I started to shout the first thing that came to my mind. What was that? Yeah buddy. And it worked.”
Ronnie Coleman used to train arduously
Ronnie Coleman was one of the biggest bodybuilders in the world. And that massive physique didn’t come easy. Coleman trained extremely hard to get that. However, he accepted the prescription usage of steroids during his bodybuilding career, but it wouldn’t be possible without his vigorous training. Even his competitors stood in awe, glancing at his 300lbs physique.
