Ronnie Coleman, the eight-time Mr. Olympia is widely recognized for his massive physique and superhuman deadlifts. Blessed with enormous strength physically and mentally, ‘The King’ made every effort to leave a legacy hard to match. However, he considers the bodybuilder turned actor cum politician, Arnold Schwarzenegger the best bodybuilder ever.

Coleman marched on to the world stage in 1992, and competed with perseverance for six years, until he won his first Mr. Olympia title in 1998. First experiences are always memorable. In his first-ever live interview which he considers goofy, Ronnie shared his thoughts about criticism of Arnold Schwarzenegger for his appointment as the Chairman of the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports in 1990.

Coleman was all praise for Schwarzenegger

In the resurfaced 1992 interview, Ronnie answered questions on tips and tricks, and his workout regime and shared his thoughts on the latest developments. One of the callers stated, “Arnold was appointed on the President’s Council and a lot of people stood up and debated the fact due to his violent movies. What’s your opinion on that, Ronnie?” 

Without much thought, Ronnie replied, “Well, I don’t have too many bad things to say about Arnold Schwarzenegger.” He continued Arnold has done a lot of positive things for the bodybuilding community.

Furthermore, he added he has been in movies, and also got appointed to the President’s Council. Besides, Coleman added, “Arnold worked hard and I think he got what he deserved.” Bodybuilding is similar to every other sport. It demands 100% dedication to training, diet, and mental approach. Undoubtedly, Arnold and Coleman have paved the path for future generations to pursue the sport as a career.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Ronnie Coleman are legends for reasons more than one

Arnold won seven Mr. Olympia titles between 1970, and 1980. His accomplishments brought in a new outlook on fitness and weight-lifting. In a 2012 interview, when asked, “How has the fitness industry changed in your lifetime?” He replied thirty years ago, he had no access to a gym while he traveled for a movie or stayed in a hotel. On contrary, “Today there’s a place right around the corner. The availability is much better.”

Ronnie Coleman is known for his unparalleled training techniques and intense heavyweight deadlifts. In his peak phase, he was widely admired for his hard work and dedication. Although it led to some serious injuries leaving him in chronic pain, he holds no regrets about his past decisions. He is proud of his contribution to the sport and showing the world the numerous records with weights and body size that were once conceived impossible.
