“Repetitively Hugged Her From Behind”: Linda Hamilton Once Called Out Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Ignorant Mistake With Her Twin Sister on Terminator Set

Renowned bodybuilder and actor, Arnold Schwarzenegger is known for his quirky and mischievous antics on his film sets. From pranking his co-stars to the directors, Schwarzenegger didn’t spare anyone. It was his happy-go-lucky attitude that helped him establish a comfortable bond with his co-stars. Many of these friendships formed on the sets continue after several decades. One such bond is with his Terminator actress, Linda Hamilton.

The two stars first met on the sets of this famous action film series nearly four decades ago. The two soon became friends and were quite comfortable around each other. But what Schwarzenegger didn’t know at the time was that Hamilton had a twin sister. This lack of information once led to Schwarzenegger mistaking Linda’s sister as his friend. In one of her interviews, Linda Hamilton once gave a hilarious account of the encounter.

Linda Hamilton talks about Arnold Schwarzenegger’s hilarious encounter with her sister

On 26 July 1991, Linda Hamilton appeared on the Late Night Show with David Letterman. This was the time when Hamilton was promoting her then-upcoming movie Terminator 2: Judgement Day. While talking about her co-star Arnold Schwarzenegger in this interview, Hamilton recalled the time he met her sister. Linda’s identical twin Leslie was not an actress but played the role of Linda’s body double in several scenes for the said movie.

Narrating the exchange between her sister and her friend, Linda said, “Arnold, I don’t think, had any idea that I had a twin sister. So, she arrives. He’s waiting out in the parking lot. I must have been on set. She’s waiting outside of my trailer and putting her suitcase down. And Arnold comes out of his room and spots her from behind, goes for the sneak attack. And he comes up behind her and very, sort of, suggestively and repetitively, hugged her from behind.”

Linda added that even when Leslie turned and introduced herself, it took a while for Arnold Schwarzenegger to get a grab of her identity. This was one of the many hilarious moments.

Hamilton opens up about her bond with Arnold Schwarzenegger

In an interview with ET Online, Hamilton revealed she loved working with the Terminator actor. Hamilton was moved when she saw him again during Terminator: Dark Fate. She claims her “deep and biting” affection for Schwarzenegger is also reflected in their movie.

Hamilton further added that she loved seeing him on set again as well as in the trailer. Moreover, she enjoyed “toying” with him again. She believes it is a result of their friendship which has lasted for more than 35 years.

The two stars remain good friends despite not meeting each other regularly. As for Linda’s sister, sadly, Leslie Hamilton passed away in 2020.
