Later, the Austrian-American actor has appeared in over 40 movies and his fans love him. In 2015, after his movie ‘Maggie’ was released, he told in an interview about his stand on the visual effects used in the movies.
Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed: What do the people want to see?
Arnold believes if the filmmakers do not put special effects in the movie, people would get bored. He justifies his answer, and said, “I cannot tell the story without that ability to grab you, throw you by your head up against the ceiling so you land in this wooden floor, and since you weigh 1,000 pounds, each time you hit the wooden floor it goes down to the next room.”
The terminator star further added, “That’s the power you have. Otherwise it becomes a UFC fight where human beings are hitting the floor. People don’t want to see that. They want to see a machine do it.”
Arnold has been working in the industry for more than five decades now. He has witnessed the growth of cinema through these years. However, he was not in the movie business as a lead actor for the time he was the governor of California. Arnold’s answer for the use of special effects comes from a movie veteran who knows about the likes and dislikes of fans.

Visual effects contribute the most to action movies compared to any other genre. Do special effects sometimes overwhelm the story? Who better than the man himself, to answer this question who made the action movies so popular? Arnold answered, “It seems to me that visual effects are very welcome”.
He further explained with an example. He said, “For instance, if the T-1000 and the T-800 have a fight scene, and you want to go beyond just pushing each other around like it’s a UFC fight — which we see all the time on television — you can only do that with visual effects”.
