Being a doting father to all of his children, Arnold Schwarzenegger made them independent. The veteran Hollywood star taught them the basics of finances at a young age. As a result, Schwarzenegger’s children grew up like normal children, setting up lemonade stands and doing odd jobs.

Arnold’s son, Patrick Schwarzenegger, once recalled an interesting anecdote from one such odd job.

In an interview with talk show host Jimmy Kimmel, the young Schwarzenegger recounted his job as a security guard. However, during the job, he surprised a renowned American icon. Who was she, and how did the meeting transpire?

Patrick Schwarzenegger made his dad proud:

When Patrick was 15 years old, he landed a job as a security guard at ‘The Grove’ – a local mall. Back then, ‘The Grove’ was a high-end mall and often had celebrity visits. When Patrick worked there, he was responsible for a wide variety of tasks, including valet, lease management tours, etc. In fact, he would cover almost all parts of the mall in order to work more effectively. However, unlike other employees, Patrick’s case was a bit different.

Back then, Arnold Schwarzenegger was a governor. Therefore, it was compulsory for Patrick to have security around him all the time. While the 15-year-old himself was working in security, he had a couple more guards for himself. However, this was not the only hilarious incident.

One day, the star came to know that American icon Paris Hilton was visiting the mall to promote her book. Patrick already knew Paris and was acquaintances with her. The hilarious part was when Patrick was Hilton’s security guard for the day! When the $300 million worth star saw the bodybuilder’s son, she was shocked! She exclaimed, “Patrick Schwarzenegger! What are you doing?”.

While these anecdotes sound out of place for the then-governor’s son, for Patrick, it was quite normal. Arnold always encouraged his children to learn such skills at a young age. In Patrick’s case, since he knew he was always interested in business, Arnie made sure he learned profit and loss at an early age. That’s how Patrick eventually began business studies and is now in a successful position.
