Similarly, Arnold’s ex-wife Maria and his children are also involved in philanthropic work. In 2021, Maria Shriver and Patrick Schwarzenegger launched their low-sugar protein bars full of brain health-boosting ingredients.

In a recent Instagram post, the mother-son duo talked about the negative impact too much sugar has on the brain. They also compared how low the sugar content of their protein bar is vs. some other popular candies.

Patrick and Maria’s quest to promote brain health 

Maria and Patrick feature in the latest video uploaded to the official Instagram page of Mosh. The caption read, “We don’t want to be the sugar police … but… this is just scary!! Look at all that sugar in these candies !!!”. In the video, the pair start by wishing everyone a happy Halloween. However, Patrick then says, “We don’t want to be the bearer of bad news. Go ahead and eat some candy tonight but don’t have too much.”

Schwarzenegger then showed how much sugar other popular brands have in a single packet of their product. “A pack of Skittles, 45 grams of sugar, a Three Musketeers over 37 grams of sugar and so on.”, said Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son. However, the mother-son duo also offers an alternative.

One plate also had mosh bars on it, along with the other candies and chocolate bars on the table. Arnold‘s son then says, “We are big brain health advocates and we’ve formulated our ‘Mosh’ bars specifically on having no added sugar.” He also says what one eats affects both their brain and body, so it’s necessary to make healthy choices.

The pair ended the video by saying that it’s Halloween and they want everyone to have fun. “Enjoy. Give out a ‘Mosh’ bar!“, said the mother-son duo.

In 2011, Maria Shriver‘s father, Sargent Shriver, succumbed to Alzheimer’s. Maria has been actively fighting to raise awareness and support Alzheimer’s research for a long time.
