“Overly Obsessed With Each Other”: Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Daughter Once Applauded Parents for Keeping Family Together Despite Their Separation

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver were married for 25 years before they filed for divorce in 2011. Maria took this step after she found out about Arnold’s illegitimate son. Although the divorce was finalized in 2021, they hadn’t lived together since 2011. The following months or years were difficult for everyone in the family. However, in 2016, Katherine Schwarzenegger, the eldest child of Maria and Arnold, praised her parents for their contribution.

Katherine Schwarzenegger maintained a positive outlook and was happy and proud of her parents, who dealt with this tough situation with maturity. But what exactly did she say?

The family got immensely affected after the separation in 2011. However, everyone kept their patience and dealt with the news gradually. In 2016, while talking with ‘The Talk’, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s daughter opened up on how well her parents handled the situation after they parted ways.

Even though the ex-couple broke their relationship, they remained present for their children. Whether it be their graduation, birthday, or any other occasion, the couple was always there for their children. When the couple separated in 2011, they stated they would look after their children together.

Katherine said, “We’ve remained very very normal and we just have a lot of love for each other. We’re overly obsessed with each other … they did a great job, both my parents …maintaining our family unit.”

It is easier said than done. However, the ex-couple did what they committed to do. Over the past decade, since they separated, their family has found ways to grow. Even though the parents aren’t a couple now, they have played their role well.

Arnold and Maria have guided their children to become their greater selves. Moreover, they have supported all their children to become the successful beings they are now in their respective lives. Interestingly, all the brothers and sisters have completely contrasting talents and careers. And they all support each other in their endeavors.
