Arnold Schwarzenegger is not only a former legendary bodybuilder but also a remarkable actor. His transition into the acting world was worth it, given the number of megahits he produced. The muscle man mostly did action films like The Terminator series, True Lies, Commando, and many more. Besides, Arnold once also narrated a documentary film that threw light upon underwater life.

2019 became the year of ultimate environmental awareness. Several superstars like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Leonardo DiCaprio became a part of it.

Wonders of the Sea: Arnold Schwarzenegger

The movie was first released in January 2019, focusing on ocean and sea life. Jean-Michel Cousteau, who is an ocean pioneer, just like his father, Jacques Cousteau, co-directed the film. Arnold Schwarzenegger played the role of a storyteller this time. Combining visuals with educational information, the film turned out to be perfect for children.

The film imparted knowledge about four various ocean habitats using videos, clips, and of course, the actor’s voice. Adding such precious and unseen views of the ocean/sea ecosystems is not a child’s play. It was possible because of Jean’s enthusiasm to explore the aquatic world and bring forth the hidden secrets.

Arnold’s opinion regarding such alerting and mindful films was that they “Should be required viewing for decision-makers everywhere.

The Thalassophile (ocean-lover) researched for over 3 years along with his kids and team. Not only the positives, but Jean also looked out for the threats induced by humans. The documentary film was not just realistic but also created a sense of awareness.

Jean iterated, “The ocean survives without us. We don’t survive without the ocean.”

The four ocean ecosystems covered in the film are extraordinary to watch. Coral reefs of Fiji, kelps of California, island desert oceans surrounding the Sea of Cortez, and finally fierce underwater animals like sharks and lionfish near the Bahamas, are all covered in the documentary.

Ice on fire: Leonardo DiCaprio

In the same vein, Leonardo contributed to another cautioning documentary film. They launched the film at the Cannes Film Festival in May of the same year. It talked about climate change and how harmful carbon-dioxide is present in excessive amounts impacting the climate. The film not only addressed the problem but also provided solutions to reverse climate change.

Carbon-dioxide is one of the greenhouse gases which is responsible for global warming and the constant rise in temperature. The film also talked about methane gas, which again, is currently at a concerning level in the atmosphere.

Given the fact that every natural phenomenon now occurs at a higher intensity than before, reversing the whole situation is urgent. Antarctica is following the speed of light in melting, while Arctic ice is in the liquid state now.
