“Oh Katherine, You Tried Very Hard”: Arnold Schwarzenegger Hilariously Mimicked Ex-Wife Maria Shiver in Front of Their Daughter in 2021

Arnold Schwarzenegger has often brought in his playful side in conversations. Whether it’s the banter between him and his on-screen rivals, or poking fun at his ex-wife, the star loves to add some humor to his words. When it comes to Maria Shriver, Schwarzenegger still shares an amicable relationship with her, with some hilarious liberties at times. In fact, in order to make things fun, he once even mimicked her in front of his eldest daughter, Katherine Schwarzenegger.

In an Instagram live session between him and Katherine, Arnold talked about various aspects of parenting and his perspective on them. The star also reflected upon how his way of parenting changed upon meeting Shriver. While talking about this, he took a minute to mimic his ex-wife.

Parenting never comes with a tutorial or a guideline on how things are done. For the Austrian Oak, it was unlearning the ways he grew up with. While speaking to Katherine, Arnold recalled how he slowly observed what his then wife, Maria Shriver, would do.

However, being his cheeky self Schwarzenegger couldn’t help but make fun of Shriver in front of Katherine. While discussing how Shriver taught him gentle parenting, he also recalled getting frustrated when she would let go of mistakes. In a particular anecdote, the former bodybuilder recounted Katherine’s skiing accident.

The eldest Schwarzenegger offspring once fell over while skiing. But instead of laughing or teasing her, Shriver made sure to dote on Katherine and let her go. Arnold mimicked his ex-wife’s words, teasing, “Even when you wiped out skiing and crossed your skis, she said, ‘oh Katherine you tried very hard. Don’t worry about it, don’t cry now, we’re gonna get some hot chocolate'”.

Now that Katherine herself is the mother of two daughters, parenting for her has taken a whole new perspective.

While she has immense respect and admiration for both Arnold and Maria for bringing up her and her siblings, she’s still navigating through the changes. Katherine and husband Chris Pratt, have two daughters – Lyla and Eloise. And grandpa Arnold adores them!

Arnold’s granddaughters are the apples of his eye, although Katherine would sometimes freak out when her father handled her babies. The star even joked about how his daughter would be paranoid, despite him having enough experience.
