The legendary bodybuilder and the Terminator actor Arnold Schwarzenegger turned 75 last year. However, it will be difficult to assume his age just by looking at him. 7x Mr. Olympia is still doing all the hard work to maintain his health and physique in a top-notch form, even at this age. But is maintaining fitness as convenient as it was at a younger age? In a recent edition of his newsletter, ‘The Pump Daily’, Schwarzenegger confessed to the struggle of maintaining fitness as a person grows older. The topic was raised when a fan asked Arnold, “How do you still maintain your physique at nearly 70 years old?”

The Austrian Oak took the platform of his newsletter to reveal that growing old is a lot more challenging than one might assume. However, despite things getting difficult, in the later years of life, there is always a way to fit into the situation. While talking about the problem, Arnold also shared the solution and the method he uses to stay fit even in the 70s. Let us have a look at what he said.

The 7x Mr. Olympia took the compliment from the fan, who called him a 70-year-old. Further, he decided to answer his question in the newsletter. Maintaining fitness with growing age is a big question for many. Most want to stay fit, but they find the process of attaining fitness extremely complex. In this edition of the newsletter, Schwarzenegger tried to simplify things and shared the realistic approach he pursues.

Schwarzenegger wrote, “But the truth is, it’s hard to maintain as you get older. Forget building. Just maintenance is a struggle.” Moreover, Schwarzenegger revealed that he is fit because he never compromises his health. He does not miss his workout routines. Schwarzenegger continued, “The other reason is that I’ve adapted my training. I’m realistic. I am not going to hit any records. I do my bike ride, and then I do machine circuits. I pick 5 or 6 exercises and I do 5 or 6 rounds with no rest beyond what it takes to move to the next machine.”

Although he doesn’t train as he used to in his bodybuilding days anymore, however, even now, if young people try to do Arnold’s routine, even they might face difficulties at times. He wrote, “By the end, I’m schvitzy. I’m not as strong as the young guys in the gym, but more than once when they’ve tried my workout, they’ve had to stop to catch their breath.”

This is not the first piece of advice the legend has shared in his newsletter. Schwarzenegger has been uplifting people’s attention towards fitness and changing lives with his newsletter since the beginning of this year. More than 250k people have subscribed to his newsletter and intake the knowledge he shares. Growing is certainly not simple.
