Not Arnold Schwarzenegger but His Biggest Rival Was Donald Trump’s First Choice to ‘Make America Healthy Again’ in 2018

Lou Ferrigno is one of the highly-rated bodybuilders who didn’t win Mr. Olympia. However, he won an IFBB Mr. America and two Mr. Universe titles in his bodybuilding career. The former bodybuilder and ‘The Incredible Hulk’ fame actor didn’t have a comfortable beginning in his bodybuilding career. For instance, he was bullied by his friends for choosing a career in bodybuilding.

Later, he worked hard, but couldn’t win any Mr. Olympia title in the presence of Arnold Schwarzenegger as his opponent. Although his massive physique has helped him make a comfortable future. In 2018, he got really excited when he got an opportunity to elevate the health prospect of American citizens.

Lou Ferrigno wanted to make America healthy again

Lou Ferrigno is extremely fit even at the age of 70. He regularly trains his body and loves to maintain his health and physique. In 2018, Ex-President of the US, Donald Trump named Lou Ferrigno in his special presidential advisory council on sports, fitness, and nutrition. Interestingly, Ferrigno was the first choice of Trump over the bodybuilding legend Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Ferrigno was excited about his new role as he wanted to change the health dimension of America. He said, “make America healthy again.”

Ferrigno added, “Nobody can surpass what I do, especially the life I have lived, what I have overcome and my passion with bodybuilding and fitness.” 

Donald Trump and Ferrigno had an old bond

Ferrigno wanted to make a difference in the country’s position by getting into the authoritative position. He wanted to change the health dynamics of the country by working for them. Ferrigno said, “I have been corresponding with President Trump because I want to change America and make America healthy again. I am a top choice for them. I feel I am the best candidate for that.”

Trump and Ferrigno previously bonded together on the Celebrity Apprentice in 2012, where they were both contestants. Furthermore, he added, “America voted for him and I am a top choice for him.” In that show, they become friends and came to know better sides of themselves.

Lou liked to be associated with the health and physique department. He loves bodybuilding since his teenage and is still engaged in that. Moreover, Ferrigno’s passion for serving the country and the old bonded friendship must have led Trump to choose Ferrigno over Arnold.
