Nostalgic Jean-Claude Van Damme Shares an Iconic Picture With Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone From the Archives

Sylvester Sly Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Jean-Claude Van Damme are undeniably Hollywood’s most bankable action heroes. It’s 2023, but it still feels surreal to spot the three together. The three stars share a deep bond and have worked together in the industry for a long time. They are not just industry colleagues but professional rivals whom the fans love to watch on screen.

In an archived image, a picture from 2017 has recently resurfaced that gives the fans a rare sneak peek of the three stars together sharing the frame. Giving all a trip down memory lane, it’s an early Sunday treat for the fans.

A picture right from the past 

The picture that was posted by Damme himself dates back to the time when the trio met for the promotion of Expendables 2. Giving a major throwback, Damme wrote, “Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and myself Jean-Claude Van Damme Flashback Friday The Expendables 2.”

In the snap shared, the three men were seen elegantly dressed in tuxedos. While Sly and Arnie color coordinated, Damme broke the color code with his black color tuxedo. Stallone was spotted sitting on the sofa, whereas Schwarzenegger and Dammer stood behind. The three men smiled the brightest as they posed for the cameras.

The fans, needless to say, were delighted to spot all three together. For those unversed, the three came together for a photo session for their film. The action trio was also joined together by members of the film and everyone marked their presence at the Grand Rex Cinema in Paris. The journey that the three had together has a tale of its own. While Sly and Arnie are now best of friends, there was a time when such was hardly the case.

A look back at Schwarzenegger and Stallone’s relationship over the years 

When bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger rose to Hollywood stardom during the same time, there was another name that was making a place in people’s hearts. Sylvester Stallone also became a mainstream name and started giving Schwarzenegger tough competition. He soon emerged as one of Arnold’s biggest competitors. The two would often indulge in a war of words that was not hidden from the public.

Reflecting on the intensity of their rivalry, Schwarzenegger once remarked, “We were attacking each other in the press relentlessly. We called each other names and called out our weak points, and it was so competitive. It became so silly that all of a sudden, it became a competition about who has the most muscular body.” However, with time their animosity turned into friendship.
