On Monday, fans filled the Paycor stadium to watch the clash between Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals. However, during the game, tragedy struck when Bills safety Damar Hamlin tackled Tee Higgins, the Bengals wide receiver. Hamlin collapsed on the field and had to be rushed to the hospital. Bodybuilding legend, Flex Wheeler, joined other athletes and countless fans in sending prayers to Hamlin.

When The Buffalo Bills player tackled Higgins, everything seemed fine. Damar Hamlin got back on his feet as well. However, the NFL safety fell backward and collapsed moments later. For 15 minutes, medics frantically administered CPR before Hamlin gained consciousness. The Bills team formed a human shield around Damar Hamlin while the paramedics tried to resuscitate him.

The bodybuilding legend sent hopes for the best

Earlier on Instagram, bodybuilding icon Flex Wheeler shared a photo of Buffalo Bills safety, Damar Hamlin. “OMG Prayers are with you and your,” wrote Wheeler in the caption. The legendary bodybuilder joined athletes like LeBron James and Tom Brady in sending prayers to the NFL player. According to reports, Hamlin is in critical condition. Doctors have put him to sleep after attaching a breathing tube.

NBA legend LeBron James shared a video of Hamlin on Twitter. “Praying for you kid!!!” he captioned the post.

Arguably the finest player in NFL history, Tom Brady also posted on Twitter. “We’re praying for Damar and his family this morning in Tampa. Moments like this put into perspective what it means to play this game we love.” Brady wrote in his tweet.

Brady also thanked the communities in Cincinnati and Buffalo for the care and support they have provided and will “continue to provide.” The NFL postponed the game between the Bills and the Bengals. The official Twitter handle of the Cincinnati Bengals tweeted they will not resume the game this week. 

Damar Hamlin’s uncle gave some insights about his condition

Dorrian Glenn, the NFL safety’s uncle, told CNN about Hamlin’s condition inside the hospital. Glenn said doctors had flipped the Bills player on his stomach as he had blood in his lungs. According to Glenn, lying on his stomach will take the pressure off Hamlin’s lungs, making breathing easier.

Earlier Dorrian Glenn revealed Hamlin went into cardiac arrest after the tackle. He said the medics had to resuscitate the NFL player twice. After restarting his heart on the field, paramedics had to resuscitate Hamlin again when they reached the hospital.
