If a well-balanced physique, hard-driving competitiveness, and a sensational winning streak constitute a bodybuilding legend, Phil Heath, the 7x Mr. Olympia is undoubtedly one. In the Club Shay Shay podcast, the former IFBB Iron Man reveals his inspiring perspective on what makes the 6x NBA champion, Michael Jordan, his all-time favorite.

Heath won every contest from 2011 to 2017 until he lost to Shawn Rhoden in 2018. During his seven consecutive wins, he gave no scope for other players eyeing the title to win it. He also remains in the history of the epic rivalry he battled with pro bodybuilder, Kai Greene. In the podcast, the former bodybuilding champion details the unique qualities of his favorite players, Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.

Phil Heath was astounded watching Michael Jordan play

Heath unleashed a die-hard fan of basketball in the podcast discussion. He happened to get a chance to witness the NBA legend play. “My jaw dropped,” he described his experience. He continued it was incredible and “may be young kids don’t know.” He added, “It was just an era.”

Following the excitement he expressed about the days of MJ, he shared what he loved about him. “He prevented epic guys from getting a title,” he said referring to his contemporaries like Patrick Ewing and young Shaq. While the bodybuilding legend hailed MJ as his 1A all-time favorite, he added Kobe Bryant as his 1B. “He’s fearless,” Heath stated of the “ultimate competitor.”

Besides, the bodybuilding icon said he loves competitive people, “that will put it on the line all the time and tell you what they’re gonna do and they do it.”

Heath revealed on the cut-throat competition in the bodybuilding contest, Mr. Olympia 2022

While Big Ramy takes the top spot, Heath warned of stiff competition from Brandon Curry, 2019 Mr. Olympia, and Hadi Choopan who stood 3rd in the 2021 contest. He also mentioned Nick Walker and William Bonac as Olympia “disruptors.
