7-feet tall NBA giant, Shaquille O’Neal, is among the greatest basketballers of all time. During his prime, the NBA legend was so strong he regularly broke backboards. To fuel his strength, O’Neal followed a gigantic diet. According to a 2008 Associated Press report, the former Lakers player spent nearly $13,000 a month, or $156,000 yearly, on food. While he had gained a lot of weight after retirement, O’Neal turned to bodybuilding to transform himself and now follows a clean diet again.

The reigning Mr. Olympia Classic Physique champion Chris Bumstead posted on Instagram earlier today. The Canadian bodybuilding star shared another Instagram story by IFBB pro, Allen Cress. Cress had shared the four-time NBA champion’s views on Bumstead’s supplement. He also tagged the champion in his Instagram post.

After finding immense success as a bodybuilder, Chris Bumstead is now trying to grow his brand. With nearly 20 million combined social media followers, Bumstead is tapping into his popularity to break into the clothing and supplement business. Recently the reigning champ launched a new flavor of his ‘Cbum’ protein powder.

Launched under the ‘Cbum’ branding, RAW, a company Bumstead co-owns manufactures the protein powder. Shaquille O’Neal tried the newly launched “Cinnamon crunch cereal” flavor and gave his review. According to Allen Cress, the NBA legend liked Cbum’s new product. “That cinnamon crunch cereal is HITTIN,” said O’Neal.

The bodybuilding icon shared his Instagram story with the caption, “Shaq Approved,” with a saluting emoji. Products like Cbum’s protein powder have helped O’Neal transform his physique.

How bodybuilding helped the NBA legend transform his physique

After retiring from basketball, ‘Shaq’ stopped working out, and his diet went out of control. However, when he crossed the 400 lbs threshold, Shaquille O’Neal made major changes to his lifestyle. The four-time NBA champ began hitting the gym and developed a liking for bodybuilding. He also started eating clean.

O’Neal began eating more vegetables and reduced the amount of processed or junk food. Last year in an interview with Nischelle Turner from Entertainment Tonight, Shaqu said he dropped 40 lbs. The former Lakers player also attributed his weight loss to protein shakes. “Plus the supplements I’m taking, and the shakes I’m drinking, the weight just fell off,” he said.
