The bodybuilding world mourns the loss of the 46-year-old IFBB Pro bodybuilder named Murat Gonul who passed away under mysterious circumstances on Tuesday. The news was made public through RxMuscle’s official Instagram handle. While the cause of death has not been revealed yet, fans are shocked by the untimely demise of the Turkish bodybuilder.
Born and raised in Istanbul, Murat Gonul made his bodybuilding debut in 2000. However, it wasn’t until 2018 that the bodybuilder made it to the IFBB Pro League. In the last two years, he participated in Toronto Pro Supershow. He finished 5th in 2021 but moved up three places and finished 2nd in 2022. As soon as he seemed to ascend the ranking ladder came the upsetting news of his sudden passing and brought back attention to an alarming issue prevailing in the bodybuilding world.

On January 10, 2023, RxMuscle announced the news of the passing away of Murat Gonul. Soon after the post was uploaded, fans paid their respect to the bodybuilder in the comments section. However, some were unable to hold back their shock. One fan referred to the alarming issue concerning the sudden deaths of young bodybuilders. He wrote, “so much uncontrolled chemistry, in the end these things happen… how many have to die for you to realize that cycles are bad…??”

Speculating the cause of death, another one wrote, “He was just in Costa Rica, no ? Accident perhaps?” A fan shocked by the news wrote, “What ?! How ? He only just posted about getting health checks ?”
