It may still be a while before International Mother’s Day, but proclaiming one’s love for their mother or vice versa can never be limited to one date. In the same spirit, bodybuilding legend and multiple Mr. Olympia champion Arnold Schwarzenegger remembered his mother from an old TV movie they did together. Schwarzenegger’s mother, Aurelia Schwarzenegger, sadly passed away in 1998 but left behind a treasure trove of memories for his son to cherish, like this one.

Arnold Schwarzenegger recently took to his Twitter to post a heartfelt tribute to his mother by sharing an old clip from a 1987 TV movie where celebrities talk to their moms. In the small snippet, funny as it is, Aurelia Schwarzenegger is being quite the critic of his son’s looks from his movie posters. Let’s find out more.

‘Superstars and Their Moms’ was a Mother’s Day special TV movie that came out in 1987. In it, celebrities appeared with their mothers and relived incidents from their past. In the clip, shared by the Twitter handle ‘Eyes on Cinema’, Schwarzenegger enters a room with his mother, adorned with movie posters. Schwarzenegger shared the tweet and wrote, “My mother was the best”. It may have been more than two decades since his mother passed, but an old video of the two spending quality time together is bound to make anyone nostalgic. And especially the Terminator.

Schwarzenegger had just made his mark in Hollywood as an action star, and all his movie posters screamed the same intimidation as his characters did in the films. Characters such as Conan, and the Terminator, were known for their audacity and physical prowess. But Schwarzenegger’s mother found them “adorable” and “cute”. Even Schwarzenegger was bemused, as he said, “Only a mother can say that. I tell you, this is everything but cute”, as people’s laughter could be heard.

Schwarzenegger then proceeds to show her pictures from his movie ‘Red Heat’. His mother, who also once had a critical take on his son’s first childbirth, wasn’t easily impressed with the movie posters as well. She said, “Why don’t you smile?” Schwarzenegger tried explaining to her that it’s about that role, which is “serious”, but to no avail.
