A bodybuilding legend was born at a small gym tucked away in the corners of Temple Street, Birmingham. It was the six-time Mr. Olympia Dorian Yates. The English bodybuilder revealed what his average day at the gym looked like back in his training days. Emphasizing the role the particular gym played in driving his successful feats, he put forward a tendered note. Yates did so with a vintage picture featuring the establishment. In his latest Instagram post, he recounted his dedication to the sport and the relief in his accomplishments through his caption. 

Sharing the lingering idea of his experience at the iconic Temple Gym, Yates stated that despite its popularity, most people found it difficult to locate it. Placed in Birmingham, UK, the gem was built by the athletes who trained there. Here’s what his caption unveiled.

As per the social media update, the 60-year-old athlete introduced the ultimate gym that carved one of the greatest physiques in the bodybuilding world. “Temple Gym. This mysterious place that people from all over the world came to know of, but found it pretty hard to find!” he wrote. Implying its magical essence, Yates pointed out that it was located in the “heart of Birmingham City Centre,” yet for many, it was nowhere to be found. 

Tucked away in a short lane of the city, the 5’10” bodybuilder deemed the gymnasium as one of its kind. He added, “was made by the people who trained there… hardcores only!” Further, describing the environment inside in a rather dramatic connotation, the 6x Mr. Olympia declared, “It was a place where blood, sweat and tears filled the atmosphere and the sound of Guns ’n’ Roses and Nirvana blaring in the background.”

The star claimed to religiously train at the Temple Gym throughout the year, from the “freezing” winters to the not-so-warm summers. Moreover, he detailed his routine by hinting that he reached there at 10:30 a.m., working out four days a week, steadily advancing towards his goals. By the same token, he recently posted another glimpse from his grilling days.

In yet another throwback update, Yates shared a rare snap from the 90s that featured him and the 1995 Arnold Classic champ, Mike Francois in an intriguing set-up. The duo posed against a gym backdrop, where Yates seemed to train hard while Francois gave the idea of a good co-athlete.

The British icon chimed in with a flattering caption dedicated to the American ace. He wrote, “Mike was another very strong bodybuilder and placed 7th at the 1995 Mr. Olympia and he also won the Arnold Classic and Night of Champions!” Additionally, he disclosed that the picture was from one of his last magazine shoots in 1997, just after his final Mr. Olympia win. All in all, the recent glimpses from the notable time that gave the sport of bodybuilding another of its legends surely take fans down the memory lane.
