British pro bodybuilder, James Hollingshead, wasn’t content with the condition of bodybuilders in the backstage during the 2022 Mr. Olympia event. After pulling off a hilarious stunt on stage, Hollingshead decided to address the issue on social media and caused something be done.

In an Instagram video, the IFBB bodybuilder was seen spilling the beans on how he and other competitors were cramped up backstage in the cold. The former British Championship winner is not new to the bodybuilding industry and demands a better administration for athletes.

Hollingshead’s Mr. Olympia debut in 2021 grabbed him a place at the 12th position. However, following the 2022 competition, he decided to go beyond bodybuilding and opened up about the behind the scenes state of bodybuilders through a video, which was posted by Centopaniscircles. Starting off with an ironic statement, he emphasized on the fact that generically; the show was all about the contenders and their physique representation. 

However, Hollingshead revealed, “They focus too much on the production.” He highlighted the mismanagement of operations that affected the performance of the athletes. “Physique suffer because of things running late, being cramped in those spaces”, he added. Moreover, he implied that the physical aspects were treated as “secondary”.

Disclosing specifics, the ‘Kratos’ cosplayer said that despite the harsh conditions, they had to go on stage and look their best. Surprisingly, it didn’t end there. They had to step back out in the cold to get to the backstage post-performance plus wait in the dark. He said, “Basically, just stand around freezing your b******s off… can’t even see each other in the dark.”

On a rather amusing note, the 2021 debuted bodybuilder, James Hollingshead, won the media’s attention whilst the 2022 Mr. Olympia event by refusing to leave the show stage and, later on, hilariously hurrying off. He was accompanied by Canadian pro bodybuilder Antoine Valliant in his feat. 

Moreover, Hollingshead posted a video on his official Instagram account, showcasing his stunt. The caption read, “When asked why they failed to leave promptly they replied The Olympia stage is was warm and it’s too cold outside.” Additionally, he mocked the incident as “Wanted by the Olympia police for refusing to leave the stage.”
