Former IFBB pro, Flex Wheeler, may not have won a Mr. Olympia title in his career, but his perseverance and passionate approach has cemented his name into the list of the greatest bodybuilders to ever exist. However, he did set an all-time record of 4x Arnold Classic wins until 2014. 

Presently, he is involved in the bodybuilding sphere as a body transformation specialist. His eternal love for fitness reflects in his social media updates. Recently, he shared MMA pro, Francis Ngannou’s workout video, while commending him with a perceptive message. 

In his social media update, the 57-year-old athlete posted a video of Ngannou sweating it out with an array of drills. Particularly, the workout routines weren’t performed in a gym setup. It was a rather raw form of workout that included rubber tires and water jars fastened to a weightlifting bar.

Highly impressed, ‘The Sultan of Symmetry’ gave the UFC Heavyweight Champion a shout-out for his uphill battle. He wrote, “Damn your excuses for not training and taken better care of yourself.” Implying at those who aren’t up for keeping themselves fit and healthy,

The impressive video featured the Cameroonian-French remarkably shooting out basketballs, blindfolded. “I’m just gonna keep going,” he can be heard saying with tunes of the 2010 FIFA theme song, ‘Waka Waka,’ playing in the background. It was undoubtedly an inspiring bit that gripped the legend’s attention.

The American athlete’s lifelong grind has finally gained recognition. In 2022, Arnold Sports revealed that he has been nominated for the 2023 Lifetime Achievement Award. An enthralled Wheeler took to his Instagram and shared the grand news with his fans, along with retrospecting his health miseries.

He wrote in his caption, “My life has not been easy, as most of you know. Over a 100 surgeries, and still have more set for 2023.” Furthermore, he added that he is now at peace with his sufferings and is ready to take “everything life throws at me.”

Wheeler’s life is proof of the fact that one can achieve a lot more by simply working for their passion. It doesn’t mandate them to get their hands on the ultimate prize. Additionally, his resistance to life’s challenges and rising up and above it is symbolic of his unbeatable mindset.
