Remarkably, he won the titles consecutively throughout the years 1998 to 2005. The athlete’s indispensable persona and cut-up physique influenced his nickname as The King. As per a recent Instagram post, the legend relived his iconic moment and further intended to share his sentiments with his followers. Thus, he put together a reaction video on his YouTube channel with 1.65 million subscribers. Let’s find out what the star is hinting at.

In the social media update, the 58-year-old athlete nuanced his life-changing instance at the 1998 Mr. Olympia, where he was crowned the winner for the first time. “I get choked up every single time I watch this clip,” his caption read. With a rather dramatic depiction of his feelings, the post featured a teary-eyed Coleman with a snap of his ‘98 victory. 

Additionally, the 5’11” star wanted his fans to re-witness his path-breaking minute. Perhaps, to create a sense of intrigue among them once again, after 25 years. “My Raw Emotional Reaction to seeing myself win the 1998 Mr. Olympia… wanted to share my thoughts and memories from that day with you all in this Reaction Video…Yeah Buddy,” his caption added.

Therefore, encouraged fans took to the comments section to chip in their thoughts on the moment. “Bless you…. you are and you always be number 1 legendary,” one fan wrote. Another one implied that his 1998 physique was the best one ever in the sport. Interestingly, he wasn’t expected to win that year, as per mass assumption. Then who was?

In a 2022 interview with Fitness Volt, 4x Arnold Classic winner Flex Wheeler opened up about his disappointment with his significant loss in 1998. Apparently, he was overwhelmed with endorsements and deals, hence, he diverted from his prime motive to win the competitions. “Ronnie won Mr. Olympia 1998, and I wasn’t really caring because I was so green. But I knew I didn’t put everything into it, and I was ashamed of myself,” he said. 

The Sultan of Symmetry was the runner-up and never got his hands on another Mr. Olympia title throughout his career. Notably, Coleman was focused on his ambition to win, while the former was a bit too confident about being the best. Thus, expressing his shock at the moment, he revealed, “Ronnie is posing and his back has more muscular than mine, and I’m looking at his lower erectors and I’m like wow, his back is more muscular than mine.”
