Former bodybuilder and 6x Mr. Olympia, Dorian Yates is a historical name in the books of bodybuilding. He reigned from 1992 to 1997 and is nicknamed The Shadow. He derived the name as a sidekick to his stringent discipline since he would show up in shows gloriously and then disappear until the next one. However, that’s not the case in his social media updates.

The English bodybuilder recently took to Instagram to flaunt his shredded physique even at the age of 60. Evidently, the former champion didn’t miss out on his workout regimes. Guess how he was feeling?

Dorian Yates is grateful at 60.

In a recent Instagram post, Yates showed off his well-maintained proportions while enjoying a rather peaceful moment under a waterfall. Additionally, the post came with an insightful caption, “Wash away all fear and negativity.” Apparently, he was having the time of his life while on a holiday trip to Brazil.

“..Feeling gratitude is the ultimate state of receivership 🙏…Amazing Tijuca Forest in Rio de Janeiro ..Worlds largest urban forest,” his caption stated. However, the highlight of the post was still his brawny frame. The 60-year-old bodybuilder’s social media is proof of the fact that he has not backed out from intense training while maintaining a highly-disciplined way of life.

Moreover, Yates is finally reaping the benefits of his hard work in the 80s. As his caption mentioned the significance of gratitude and humility, he highlighted his harsh past life. As a matter of fact, Yates once opened up about his prejudices even after his introduction to the bodybuilding industry.

Dorian Yates was homeless.

Shockingly, the legend discovered his passion in prison. 18-year-old Yates was sentenced to six months in jail where he was eventually exposed to the sport, per reports. Moreover, in a previous social media update, he opened up about his struggles after being released. Even though he was already determined to be a world-class bodybuilder, life dragged him down to reality because apparently, he had “nowhere to live.”

“This was my life in the early 80s … I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life at this point. It wasn’t until I got into prison and discovered my talent for bodybuilding, that changed the trajectory of my life. As soon as I got out I had nowhere to live so you got the city to come on and visit and see if you are eligible to get some housing.” Yates wrote in his caption.
