One such athlete is Frank Zane, a 3x Mr. Olympia champion, who is also hailed as one of the greats in the powerlifting community. Additionally, his name has been incorporated into the IFBB Hall of Fame in 1999. Therefore, the icon’s precious advice is largely sought after by athletes at all levels. 

Thus, in a recent Instagram post, the bodybuilder penned down a potential method of tracking progress in a more coherent manner. He indicated the precise use of today’s technology to better their transformations. Let’s find out what he said. 

Frank Zane suggests a better way to glory

As per the social media update, the 80-year-old veteran teased the benefits of taking subsequent pictures of themselves. His expertise implied that the prompt clicks captured throughout the course shall be used productively to review the modifications. “Because those pictures can better help you track your progress and objectively judge, the way you look, than standing in front of the mirror,” the caption read. 

Zane highlighted the comparative ease of being mindful of bodily developments by the above-said method instead of assessing the same in front of a mirror. Most bodybuilders predominantly use the latter, however, the Hall of Famer advocates against it.

Furthermore, the post featured a picture from his earlier competing days. His impressively lean physique was a sight to the sore eyes, as he flaunted his shredded biceps. The awestruck fans acknowledged the effort with their blissful comments. One wrote, “Absolute legend your the man that inspired me. You look awesome in the picture,” whereas another recapitulated the picture as “The Steeves Reeves pose!” Last year, the champion once opened up about the mistakes he did while on his way to fame. 

A few oversights by the mighty Frank Zane

In a previous interview with Muscle & Strength, the star once got candid about his failures and mistakes that affected his career. When Zane was enquired about the errors in his past diet regime, he said, “Bulking up, training too heavy, and getting injured. Just doing stupid stuff. A lot of times you push yourself too hard.”

Apart from that, he also stated that people overstepped the fine line between training and resting. It resulted in excessive fatigue or injuries at times. “It is difficult to know when you should rest and when you should push hard. That is the quandary that everyone wants to know,” Zane added.
