It’s just a little over a month since Mr. Olympia 2022 concluded, and the bodybuilding circuit saw the best of the best competing with each other. As experts and analysts still continue digging deeper into the biggest bodybuilding event, 30-year-old Samson Dauda aka The Nigerian Lion is already preparing for the next. Gearing up for the first major and the second most prestigious bodybuilding competition—Arnold Classic 2023—the bodybuilding beast is leaving no stone unturned to give his best.
Early today, Dauda posted his workout routine with which he was showing off his ripped body style. With one more week away from the competition, the countdown for the big event begins.

5’11” tall, Dauda is a known name in the bodybuilding circuit. As a native of Nigeria, he drew inspiration from 2013 Mr. Olympia champion Phil Heath to pursue the sport full-hand. Participating in his first bodybuilding competition in 2014, he secured his first-ever win. Since then, there’s been no looking back. In 2022, he beat reigning champion Big Ramy to secure the sixth position.

The Nigerian Lion, post a successful year at Mr. Olympia, is now looking forward to securing a better position in Arnold Classic. A promising candidate for the event and his prospects for winning the competition are high. Apart from following a strict diet, he has been taking special care of his workout. He regularly keeps on sharing his workouts with fans and misses no chance to show off his ripped body. Following his usual tradition early today, the 30-year-old dropped a short clip where he can be seen showing off his back muscles in style. Sharing the short clip, the young bodybuilder wrote, “Game checkmate.” Dauda remains active on his Instagram and keeps on sharing his honest perspective on bodybuilding and experience.
Dauda opened up about his Mr. Olympia experience
Even though Dauda successfully secured the sixth spot in the Mr. Olympia competition, he was unhappy with the management. The Nigerian Lion was not happy with the flawed timings of the competition. The Open Men’s division was five hours behind the schedule. The event that was supposed to start at 6 pm eventually started at 11 pm, which impacted the competitors.

Expressing his experience and taking a sharp dig at the management committee, he wrote, “As an athlete, you have to prepare for that. That’s your job to be a professional. You’re supposed to prepare for the worst and hope for the best.” However, despite the hurdles, Dauda overcame those and successfully secured his name amongst the Top 10.
