American bodybuilder turned actor, Michael O’Hearn has earned quite a name in the fitness and film industry, over the years. Probably inspired by bodybuilding legend, Lou Ferrigno’s role in The Incredible Hulk, O’Hearn impressively cosplayed the superhero recently. A video of him cosplaying as the fictional character surfaced on the internet. Moreover, he dramatically depicted the Hulk with an amusing connotation revealed in his caption.
In a recent TikTok video, the bodybuilder flexed his muscles while donning the superhero’s costume. The video hinted that after his favorite expensive Dior perfume runs out, he turns into an angry beast. Remarkably, he was hardly recognizable in the dress-up.

The 54-year-old athlete gave tough competition to the iconic role, originally played by the former Mr. America. Starting from the wig to flaunting green eyes and of course, the shirtless attire, all seemed on point. He stirred up the internet with the snippet, while his caption read, “when they run out of Dior Sauvage.” It denoted the utter disappointment he feels when his preferred $145 cologne, Dior Sauvage, is out of stock in stores. A hilarious depiction of his feelings.
In less than 5 hours, O’Hearn’s stunt amassed over 228.8k views, making it go viral on the platform. Towards the end of the video, the athlete seemingly smashed through a glass wall, reiterating the movie scenes. A reverb version of Haddaway’s What is Love tuned into the background as he cosplayed iconically.
Reportedly, the superhero first came on screen after Lou Ferrigno was cast in the movie in 1977. The film was a hit and has been internationally acclaimed. Moreover, it was the first time the legend was ever featured on TV screens apart from his bodybuilding endeavors. Since then, the role has been played by several actors like Mark Ruffalo, Eric Bana, and Edward Norton. However, the story behind Ferrigno getting the part remains priceless.
How Lou Ferrigno ended up being a superhero
Talking to sources in 2019, the 71-year-old icon got candid about his path-breaking role in Hollywood. The director Kenneth Johnson’s son, played a significant part in getting him the opportunity. Before Ferrigno was cast in the role, Richard Kiel was slated to play the titular character. “The director came on the set one day and he had his son with him, and the son said, ‘Daddy, he doesn’t look like the Hulk”, said Ferrigno.

Thus, a nationwide hunt was organized to look for the “The Hulk…with the big massive muscles,” as depicted in the comic books. Ferrigno was at his peak shape in those times, and also the reigning bodybuilder then. “They found me by coincidence…perfect to play the role. And I was in the best shape of my life as well,” he added. Rest is history.
