Some major names feature in the First Callout Group of Men’s Open of Mr. Olympia 2022

After some impressive individual posing from all the finalists of the Men’s Open category, it was time for the judges to call them out for a group showdown. With 15 men standing on one side of the stage and 16 on the other, anticipation grew by the second. But the judges did not keep the audience waiting for a big showdown as the defending champion, Mamdouh Elssbiay, was put up against Brandon Curry.

The rest of the field included Samson Dauda, Hadi Choopan, Derek Lunsford, and Nick Walker.

The six bodybuilders stood toe to toe as the announcer called for different poses. In a fierce field, the competition seemed too close to call a clear winner from the group. It will be interesting to see which of these men takes home the famed Sandow Trophy.

The callout judges made a curious call by keeping the defending champ, Big Ramy, on the far right side throughout the routine. Dauda, Curry, and Walker dominated the center stage for the showcase showdown. The final callout saw a repeat of the first one as they asked all six bodybuilders to come back on stage for another showdown. The showcase positions remained rather unchanged from the first round.
