Great things were bound to happen when Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jackie Chan met. Although the movie Journey to China: The Mystery of Iron Mask was one of those great things, the other was a personal achievement for Chan.

While talking about a “special moment” from his legendary acting career, Chan remembered being in the company of his “old” friend Schwarzenegger.

Arnold Schwarzenegger was beside Chan while receiving a “surprise”

In his world-famous book – Never Grow Up, Jackie Chan began the introductions of his memoir by mentioning a “magical” night spent with Schwarzenegger by his side.

In 2016, Chan received an honorary Academy Award for his Lifetime Achievement in the Hollywood film industry. However, Chan confessed that he never expected to receive such a huge honor. While recalling his time back to the award ceremony, Chan mentioned, “I sat at the award ceremony next to my old friend and costar Arnold Schwarzenegger. I had no idea what was going to happen, and was surprised by the three presenters who introduced me.”

Surrounded by friends like Schwarzenegger in the audience, Chan was moved to receive such a special honor. He tried to revisit those memories in his book and wrote, “After fifty-six years, making over two hundred films, and breaking many bones, I never thought I’d win one, so getting the call was like a dream come true.”

Both Schwarzenegger and Chan have a great on-set and off-set relationship. In fact, Schwarzenegger has also termed Chan his “hero”.

A legend inspired by another legend!

Although Schwarzenegger and Chan belong to two different sports, their movie type is similar. Both Hollywood stars are famous for their action-packed and entertaining films. In the Iron Mask movie, the duo had a fight scene against each other.

In 2019, during Schwarzenegger’s Terminator: Dark Fate World Tour promotions, the two old friends met again. Schwarzenegger also shared a post on his Instagram with Chan and called him his “hero” and an “inspiration”.

Although their friendship is not the most famous in Hollywood, their fans love them. Except for the Iron mask movie Schwarzenegger and Chan have not worked in any other film together. Hopefully, the fans might get to see them again soon.
